Dr Andrew is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with dual Certificates of Completion of Specialist Training in General Adult Psychiatry and Psychiatry of the Elderly.
He also trained in Liaison Psychiatry and has a particular expertise in psychological trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Since 2007, he has been a Consultant at the Cardiff Traumatic Stress Service, providing specialist care for individuals, including veterans, affected by trauma. His contributions to the field include co-authoring two Cochrane systematic reviews on psychological treatments for PTSD.
Dr Andrew has assessed thousands of individuals exposed to a broad range of traumatic events, including road, air, and rail accidents; torture; sexual and physical abuse; war and combat; workplace injuries; electrocution; and major incidents such as the Grenfell disaster. His clinical focus is now on complex PTSD, providing assessments and treatment for individuals with severe and enduring psychological trauma.
With over 23 years of experience as a Psychiatric Expert Witness, Dr Andrew has provided expert reports for civil and criminal cases and has given evidence in Magistrates' and Coroners' Courts, as well as at Public Inquiries.
