Dr Julian Beezhold is an experienced NHS Consultant Psychiatrist, practising since 2003 across acute inpatient, liaison, and crisis resolution home treatment services.

He is registered as a specialist in General, Old Age, and Liaison Psychiatry with the General Medical Council and is approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.

Dr Beezhold has extensive expertise in trauma, PTSD, consent and capacity, suicidality, acute psychiatric assessment and interventions, risk assessment, mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorders, and substance misuse.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Beezhold is a Board Member and Secretary General of the European Psychiatric Association (EPA). He has served as an independent external advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Services Ombudsman and previously held roles as Psychiatry Lead at UEA Norwich Medical School, Chair of the EPA Emergency Psychiatry Section, and Deputy Registrar and Council Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

As a highly experienced expert witness, Dr Beezhold provides psychiatric reports for civil, criminal, family, and coroners’ courts, as well as the Court of Protection, with a primary focus on defendant cases. He has received formal medico-legal training and regularly attends the Bond Solon Annual Medico-Legal and Grange Conferences.
